Airline Security

November 11th, 2008

They type of song with lyrics that would get me in trouble if I really believed them. Well, at least if I believed all of them.

The Scandal of ‘83

August 25th, 2008

I’m particularly proud of the lyrics on this one. My wife couldn’t figure them out, but then again, she was born in ‘86.

Everybody On My Street Is A Zombie

August 3rd, 2008

This is not a commentary on my neighbors. My neighbors are such that Mr. Rogers himself would have been envious. Rather, this song is an ode to the tired zombie thriller plot.

Look Alike

June 15th, 2008

Tami (my sister) made an interesting observation here . A very worthy discussion. Several (many thousands) have also observed similarities between myself and another pretty well-known pop icon. I think you’ll agree, the resemblance is uncanny.

Another song inspired by a memorable quote by Hyrum.

The Velour Show

May 29th, 2008

Last night’s show was fun. Ellis and I are now officially (spontaneously) dubbed “The Adventures of Mrs. Packman”, for better or for worse.

For those who remember my cover of “Come Back” I mentioned Clover, a local band me and my brothers listened to way back in Junior High. The lead singer, Jamen Brooks, was at the show last night and it was great being able to meet the man behind one of the most influential bands of my adolescent period. He mentioned he was still jamming and pointed me to his Myspace page. The four songs he has there are extraordinary. His albums are available on iTunes, Amazon, and eMusic. After a morning listening to his two albums I can’t recommend them enough to folks who (like me) thrive on experimental, mellow, acoustic sonorities of the vein of Radiohead.

Just Trust Your Uncle Andy

April 25th, 2008

I won’t bother to explain the inside joke (no one ever thinks it’s as funny as it was at the time), but suffice to say, there is a story behind this t-shirt. But even without the story, it is sure an awesome shirt! Nothing says “style” like a picture of a shady looking dude in a windowless van with the words “Just Trust Your Uncle Andy” on the side. Thanks Jared for creating this beauty for me. Just Trust Your Uncle Andy

I got a gnome in the backyard…

April 21st, 2008

Anyone familiar with the song Oh Mandy by the Spinto Band (I blogged about it and you can hear it here) will understand the level elation I experienced when my wife surprised me with my very own backyard gnome for my birthday! Backyard Gnome
